The ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor is a precision meteorological instrument with no moving parts, ensuring long-term reliability and zero maintenance. It requires no on-site calibration. For optimal performance, we recommend reading this manual carefully before use.
This ultrasonic wind sensor features a lightweight and robust design, free of any mechanical components. It is maintenance-free and does not require field calibration. The sensor is capable of simultaneously measuring wind speed and wind direction with high accuracy. It can be connected to a computer, data logger, or any data acquisition system compatible with its output format. The device supports either RS232 or RS485 communication, selectable according to user requirements.

Installation on Moving Platforms (Vessel or Vehicle, with Electronic Compass)
Positioning:
Install the device on a vertical mounting pole. Ensure there are no tall structures or obstacles within 2 meters on the same horizontal plane to avoid airflow disturbances or turbulence that could affect measurement accuracy.
Alignment:
Orient the sensor’s alignment marker (red dot) to face the exact forward direction of the moving platform (e.g., vehicle front or ship bow), then secure the installation. Two red directional marks are provided to assist with accurate alignment.
Note:
The internal electronic compass of the sensor is aligned with the red dot direction. This direction corresponds to the heading of the platform (e.g., bow of the ship). The housing is also marked with a red dot to indicate this direction.
