Structural Capacity for AtoN Equipment

A Steel Platform Designed Around Installed Loads

Navigation buoys carrying solar panels, lanterns, batteries and electronic AtoN equipment require more than flotation capacity alone—they also need a structure capable of supporting the installed load.

The DX-ST1800 provides up to 400 kg maximum payload, with its CCS Grade B marine steel float and upper structure forming a load-bearing platform for project-specific AtoN equipment.

Dedicated Internal Equipment Space

Keep Power Components Inside the Buoy Structure

The DX-ST1800 includes an Ø800 × H900 mm internal compartment, providing dedicated space for batteries and related onboard components.

The current configuration accommodates up to 2 × 100 Ah lithium batteries, allowing power-system planning to be integrated into the buoy from the beginning of the project.

Integrated Solar and AtoN Platform

Upper Structure Prepared for a Complete Navigation Setup

The upper steel structure provides defined mounting positions for equipment such as:

  • Marine navigation lantern
  • Solar panels
  • S-band or X-band RACON
  • Passive radar reflector
  • Other project-specific AtoN equipment

This allows the buoy, power system and navigation equipment to be considered as one integrated layout rather than separate components added later.

Steel Forming and Welded Construction

Built Around a Defined Structural Manufacturing Process

The float body is manufactured from CCS Grade B marine steel plate using steel plate forming and gas-shielded welding.

The structure also incorporates:

  • 316L stainless steel internal components
  • Seamless steel pipe for tower and tail sections
  • Anti-corrosion epoxy coating on exposed steel surfaces

This gives the buoy a clearly defined structural and surface-protection system for marine deployment.

Project-Matched Operating Configuration

The buoy's tower material, structural height and waterline can be configured according to project conditions.

Optional tower materials include CCS-grade marine steel or 316 stainless steel, allowing the final arrangement to be matched to the installed equipment and deployment requirements.
