Product Description
Help vessels recognise the navigation mark they are approaching. The DX-RACON-02 Dual Band returns a selectable coded response to compatible X-band and S-band radar, giving the designated aid an identifiable radar reference.
For harbour entrances, channel approaches and fixed marine structures, equipment selection starts with the vessels using the area. Supporting X-band at 9300–9500 MHz and S-band at 2900–3100 MHz, this RACON serves projects that require identification on both radar bands from the same marked location.
An engineering-plastic radome, 316 stainless steel base and IP68 protection provide clear construction specifications for marine installation planning. With 9–36 V DC input and an RS485 interface, the unit can be assessed alongside the site’s mounting arrangement, available power and connection requirements.

How can we distinguish several navigation marks in the same area?
Selectable response codes allow each RACON’s identification to follow the project’s marking plan. Supported choices include A–Z, 0–9, NW, NE, SW and SE, giving the team options for assigning a recognisable coded response to the designated aid.
For a project with several marks, record each location and its assigned code in the installation documentation. Confirm the assignments with the responsible authority and check the configured responses during commissioning to keep the deployed equipment consistent with the approved plan.
Can the RACON connect to our existing control equipment?
The DX-RACON-02 includes an RS485 serial interface for connection to compatible host equipment. This gives the project team an interface to consider when planning the RACON alongside an existing controller or monitoring terminal.
Review the communication protocol, wiring requirements and supported data against the supplied technical documentation. Where remote access is required, the available functions depend on the connected terminal, communication equipment and agreed integration arrangement.
What should we consider when selecting it for an exposed marine location?
The unit combines an engineering-plastic radome with a 316 stainless steel base. Its specified IP68 protection and −40°C to +70°C operating temperature range provide clear environmental values for comparison with the installation site.
Consider these specifications together with the mounting surface, fixing method, cable sealing and surrounding structures. Planning the housing, connections and antenna position together helps the installation suit the physical conditions at the chosen location.
