Product Description
The SC160I is designed for medium-range navigation projects that require reliable visual marking on both floating buoys and fixed structures.
Two optical configurations allow customers to select the correct beam pattern for each installation. Integrated solar power supports unattended operation, while Bluetooth, GPS synchronisation, and optional communication functions simplify configuration, monitoring, and long-term asset management.

Floating buoys move and tilt with waves, while fixed structures remain stable and can use a more concentrated light beam.
The SC160I is available in two optical configurations:
- Floating-aid version: wider vertical light distribution for moving navigation buoys
- Fixed-aid version: narrower beam for longer-range marking from stable structures
Using one product platform for both applications can simplify product selection, spare-parts planning and maintenance across projects with different AtoN types.
The SC160I Solar Marine Lantern is designed for unattended operation in remote marine environments.
Its integrated solar charging and LiFePO₄ battery system support up to 25 days of operation, helping maintain navigation marking during periods of limited sunlight. The self-contained design also reduces external wiring and avoids the need for a separate solar-power enclosure.

The SC160I can be supplied with AIS, GSM or customised satellite communication according to the operating environment.
The SC160I-AIS supports Type 1 and Type 3 AIS AtoN operation with FATDMA, RATDMA and SOTDMA modes.
It transmits AtoN information through the AIS network, allowing compatible vessels and monitoring systems to identify the marine mark electronically. The typical communication range is 15–20 NM, depending on installation and site conditions.
The SC160I-GSM connects to the Satvora 360 monitoring platform through a local SIM card or factory-provided international roaming SIM service.
Operators can review equipment status, position, alarm records and maintenance information remotely, reducing unnecessary inspection visits.
Satellite communication can be customised for offshore and isolated locations where GSM coverage is weak or unavailable.

The SC160I is suitable for:
- Navigation buoys
- Channel and fairway marks
- Harbour and port approaches
- Fixed beacons and piles
- Coastal waterways
- Offshore navigation marks
- Aquaculture boundaries
- Marine construction zones
- Temporary safety marking
The floating or fixed optical version should be selected based on the installation type, required range, and local operating conditions.

Dexonmarine can configure the Solar Marine Lantern according to the required light colour, flash character, mounting interface, and communication needs.
With in-house marine electronics production, optical assembly, communication integration, buoy manufacturing and pre-deployment inspection, Dexonmarine supports the lantern as part of a complete marine AtoN solution—not only as a standalone product.
