Outdoor and Indoor Marine AIS Base Stations for Port, Coastal, VTS and AIS AtoN Monitoring

The Dexonmarine AIS Base Station Series supports continuous AIS reception, AIS AtoN communication and shore-side data collection for ports, waterways, coastal stations and monitoring networks.

Both models use the same core AIS platform. Customers can select the enclosure, power input, and communication interfaces based on where the equipment will be installed.

The series provides a typical AIS communication range of 20–25 NM, supports standard AIS channels and outputs AIS data in NMEA 0183 / VDM format for connection to compatible monitoring and traffic-management systems.

The base station helps operators collect AIS information from nearby vessels, AIS AtoN units, navigation buoys and other compatible transmitters.

Supported AIS messages include 21, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14 and 25, depending on the final hardware and software configuration. This allows the system to support vessel traffic visibility, AtoN status communication and project-specific AIS data exchange.

Choose the DX082FA when the base station will be installed where it is directly exposed to rain, wind, salt spray or changing outdoor conditions.

Its IP68 FRP enclosure is suitable for:

The outdoor model can be powered by AC 220 V or DC 8–32 V and provides RS232, RS485 and RJ45 interfaces for system integration.

Choose the DX083IA when the equipment will be installed inside a protected room, rack or cabinet.

The indoor model uses a rack-style metal housing, supports AC 220 V or adjustable DC 12 V, and provides RS232 and RJ45 Ethernet interfaces.

AIS information can be stored locally for project review, system records and temporary operation when the upstream connection is interrupted.

The final communication method can be selected according to the site network, control-room architecture and data-reporting requirements.

The AIS Base Station Series can support up to eight virtual AtoN marks, subject to the selected configuration.

Virtual AtoN can be used to broadcast the position and identity of a navigation mark without installing a physical buoy at that exact location. This may support temporary marking, hazard notification, channel management or project-specific navigation requirements.

The DX082FA is designed for exposed outdoor installation and uses an IP68 FRP enclosure. The DX083IA is intended for protected indoor installation in a control room, rack or cabinet.

The typical range is 20–25 NM. Actual coverage depends on antenna height, antenna selection, surrounding obstructions, installation position and local radio conditions.

Yes. AIS data can be provided through NMEA 0183 / VDM using the available serial or Ethernet interfaces. Final protocol and software integration should be confirmed for the project.
